The Owners

Jay and Hannah Leavitt have been building houses in the LC Valley since 2009. Together with their 7 wonderful children, they live on a farm that is also a home base for the construction company. The farm sits on the edge of a ravine, with views of the mountains to the north, and golden wheat fields stretching out to the east. It is happily situated for their animals, which includes cows, horses, chickens, ducks, a dog, and countless cats to keep up on the field mice. Jay and Hannah work together to add thoughtful touches to every house they build, bringing life and warmth to a home.

Heather

HOUSE PLAN DESIGNER

Heather has worked for JL Construction since early 2021, doing office work and learning about the process of general construction. She has worked with her husband remodeling houses since 2016 and incorporates what they have learned into the custom house designs. She enjoys the creative process of designing a home and the problem solving that comes with it.

Keely has worked closely with Hannah for several years on all things interior design. She has enjoyed decorating from a young age and got started by attending a Foundations of Interior Design course in Texas, since then she has expanded her knowledge and uses the skills she learned, along with her natural talent, to create functional spaces that also feel inviting.

We have a small crew of skilled workers, each with their own specialties. From complicated foundations to intricate tile and finish work, each employee brings their own vision and value to every project.

  • The cost varies greatly depending on the house size, style choices, and many other factors. To get a quote for custom plans, you’ll need to fill out the design form so we can estimate how much time will be required for the design and consulting process. There's no commitment with a quote, so you can decide if it's the right path for you.

  • You'll start by submitting your design request on our services page. This will walk you through a questionnaire where we will give details about the design you want. After you submit your request, we will contact you with an estimated turnaround time and any questions we may have.

    You will receive a mock up design and the opportunity to make changes. We will work with you through this process to make sure the design is exactly what you want before finalizing, including having a 3D link for you to see the house and virtually walk through it.
